The Aura of Immunity

As many of you know, I have been on an intense and extended maternity leave. Intense because well, motherhood is intense. Extended because I've felt both me and my son need this time together and I have the privilege of taking it.

While I have been working a bit, I have felt the inability to be as creative externally. I have been in a inward-centric season, fiery and transformative and strengthening amidst shifting energies in my life. But I'm (slowly) feeling the call to come back. To step up, and to lead.

Are you feeling it too?

Women are the leaders of this new time. We are the freedom keepers of minds, and hearts, and families. We are needed more than ever to hold the aura of protection, love, and immunity for ourselves, our families, our workplaces, and our villages.

The first call is to hold the space of immunity from fear. Please understand, the news is a business. I am not denying there is a lot going on and it's smart to be careful and wash your hands (just not with anti-bacterial soap - we want that good bacteria on our hands just like we need it in our gut!) - but fear is also an agenda.

Fear makes people buy things. Fear makes people easy to manipulate. Fear spikes cortisol which weakens the immune system.

So what are we to do? We're to stay steady, strong. We can...

  • Find the joy in each day in little things like the beauty of the changing seasons.

  • Turn off the TV (or what someone I know calls "the idiot box"), and unplug from the constant news alerts for a bit.

  • It's ALWAYS a good time to work on strengthening our pranic body through practices like this powerful 11 minute one. If it's too intense, once you get the hang of it you can do it for just 5 or 3 minutes.

  • Get some fresh air via a nice walk and move the body to move the lymph.

  • Eat well - lots of healthy fruits and veggies and herbal teas. Increase anti-viral foods like garlic and green tea.

  • Notice what you’re downloading into your perspective and projection. Are you looking for things to freak out about? Or are you finding ways to be grounded, connected, and steady?

  • Change the mental thought stream by listening to any mantras by my favorite White Sun or this specific mantra I sing to my son each day.

  • Help someone to improve your mood and theirs.

  • Have some FaceTime chats with loved ones.

Remember, you are a powerful force of healing and radiance and good in your life and the lives of others. Remember your power. Remember your influence.

And thank you, for sending out the call...I'm feeling it strongly now to slowly but surely come back to writing, and teaching and being in community both digitally and in person.

Where are you being called to be a leader and light bearer? It's time to step up. Even if it's just a little bit.

Sending support and love in these exciting times of challenge and growth.

Sat Nam,
Joanna
